Chaotic Card of the Week

Welcome back to yet another Card of the Week! You guys aren't sick of me yet? :P

This week's card is Mipedian Balladeer's Flute

This is an interesting battlegear that I am particularly fond of. It is like a Mugician's Lyre on caffeine! Unlike Mugician's Lyre, you get to begin the game with this face up. So you can put this on a creature that will never see combat so you can get an extra mugic counter. Put this on a Karabba, and you will get an extra 30 points of healing!

Now, a big turn off of this battlegear is that your opponent also gets a mugic counter. This actually isn't a very big weakness. Most decks plan to have just enough mugic couters to pay for their mugic, but after they cast their mugic, there isn't anything left for them to use any counters on. So they get a counter, but they don't have any realy use for it :P.

  1. I don't know about that. Almost any player will find use for an extra MC, whether it be for a Fluidmorpher's ability, another Creature's ability, or even Mugic. So many players have recently been relying on the Chimegrid for Mugic so it isn't necessarily true that all players have just enough MCs to cast their Mugics. Besides, if they did that they wouldn't be playing that well as it could easily be foiled by attacks like Supercooled Rain and many other cards. Anyways, some thoughts.

  7. I plan on using two of these in my Overworld army, this gear seems to work very well with Najarin FF since not only would you get a MC from the ability but you also get one because Najarin would gain a MC due to his ability. =)

  9. ill give it a 6 because I really don't like the draw back lots off decks have lore or something like it which will give them another 10 damage to use on you :(

  10. Several simple words....
    Illexia
    Lobanne
    Markabon
    Xelfe
    Kopond
    Karraba

Danians to get more out of this than others, since they either gain an additional mandiblor (which can be SICK), get a free infection and activation of hive, or get a free 30 energy for 1 battle. Yes healing 30, getting range/swift 3, or dealing 15 damage is great too, but I just think Danians DEFINATLY got the sweet end of the stick on this gear.

  14. You do not know how far my jaw is dropping. I was just (2 minutes ago) making an OW army that focuses on healing. I was going to use this on Karraba to get the extra 30 healing. I would rate it 8/10, the second ability is a bit of a drawback.

  16. I use it with Drabe and Najarin FF. That way Drabe can increase the energy of one of my fighters by an extra 15, and if my opponent gains a counter, so does Najarin.
