Card Analysis

Seeing as I can't seem to keep a weekly schedule, I'll stop calling this card of the week. Hopefully the one person who still looks for updates will be pleased :).

Let's talk about Elemental Denial

I've been on a Zenith of the Hive kick these past few days. I don't know why, but I've just rediscovered the set and I just love it! A great example of what I mean is with Elemental Denial. This uncommon from ZoTH can almost guarantee a win in several situations. With the metagame putting so much emphasis on elements, making an opponent lose one, let alone multiple elements, is a death sentence. Not to mention with the rule change around Element X and Fluidmorph no longer functioning if you have the corresponding element, this card can shut just about anyone down.

So, rate it out of 5 :).

  1. I would rate it a 5, cause it has saved me several times back in the old pad.

  2. Well, I haven't used ot much but you make a strong case. Considering the next set sets even more focus on elements. With cards like Magmon Engulfed and the new rules that card certainly would spell doom for the player with say the below deck:
    Brimflame Chaor TF Brimflame
    Magmon Engulfed Magmon Engulfed
    Nivenna
That player would lose whoever they were fighting with. I givve it a 6

  3. 6/5

I am glad people are realizing just because cards are old they are not good! Ironically, I use this in one of my mixed decks.

  4. I'm really glad this card was reviewed. I love the anti element feel to things. I really wanted to make an Element Shut Down deck, using danian, underworld and marillian cards, using..

    Klar'nok
    Wilt'dred
    Vilrik Landfarer
    Em'swa
    Heptadd's crown
    elemental denial
    intertwined melody
    chaac
    LVBSOA
    maybe Bo'aam..
    Adaptive Progression

etc., I'd love to see a deck like this sometime..

  5. This Mugic is a real game changer. I've had a few run-ins with it, and you definitely don't want to be at the receiving end of it if your army is based around elements. But that put aside I'll give it a 6/5

  6. Element loss is like you said..A death sentence. Not unique either..So it can be used on 2 of the main fighters. Fluidmorhpers can't gain Mugic Counters..This mugic blocks out anybody. It is definitely a 5/5.
