Bungle in the Jungle, CCTW-March 11

Welcome back for yet another card of the week! :)

This week we are going to celebrate a favorite location of mine: The Heart of the Jungle. No one likes it when their awesome overworld healing lineup is stopped dead in its tracks by a Gan'trak army. This location gives you a turn of safety. Chances are, your creatures have at least one stat that is higher than all of your opponent's stats, so if your opponent would start lowering your stats, he is signing his own creature's death warrent.

But I'm not saying that only overworlders can benefit from this sort of card. Any player who wants to show those darned M'arrillians a thing or two might find some use for this card. The Kha'rall's intimidate will backfire on themselves, and Gan'trak will only end up stopping his own creatures.

So, rate this location out of ten like always :).

Chaotic Card of the Week-January 7

This week's card is Skeletal Springs :).

This card is a really nifty and interesting counter to the Fluidmorphing decks out there. It's interesting because it powers up water attacks, but it also shuts down an ability that is centered around water. It's nifty because it it one of the only cards that powers up attacks of a certain element without lowering the damage from another elemental type attack. So if you are running a deck that uses both water and earth attacks, you wouldn't play Everrain, but Skeletal Springs would be a much better choice.

This card is a bit of a double edge sword though. Skeltal Springs gives any creature with the Water element Water 5, without lowering the damage of other attacks that your opponent might have. So if your opponent has the water element as well, both of you will both be on equal ground.

Rate out of 10 :).

Community Make a Card Part 3

Ok guys, time to choose the art. I am a bit disappointed that it was mipedian though, lizard art is a tad hard to find :P.

Chaotic Card of the Week-December 17

This week, we are getting into the M'arrillian spy, Phelphor!

Courage: 35
Power: 40
Wisdom: 60
Speed: 55
Energy: 40

Phelphor is a really versatile creature. Not only is he a Fluidmorpher which gives you a large amount of mugic counters, but he isn't loyal! This creature may see play in many different decks, not only the traditional M'arrillian Chieftain army that we have gotten used to. Any deck can use the extra mugic counters in their deck, like in the updated overworld deck I posted a few weeks ago. Stick Phelphor in the back, and use him to cast all of your generic mugic and save your other counters for whatever you want.

Now on to his other abilities. Anyone who played the original version of Phelphor got a good idea on how moving your opponent's creatures can be useful in terms of attacking their back row mugic casters, or move their attacking creatures away from your vulnerable creatures.

So, like always, rate him out of 10 :).

So what type of card do you guys want to make?-vote in poll on the right :).

1. Creature
2. Battlegear
3. Mugic
4. Location
5. Attack

Vote for Maxxor!

Very important announcement guys! tcgplayer.com is holding a contest, pretty much a who will win in a fight tournament. Inn the first round, Maxxor is up against Urza, from Magic: the gathering. Now Urza might be a powerful spellcaster, but he is nothing compared to Maxxor's strength and mugical abilities! So let's get voting Chaotic!

Card of the Week December 3

Today we are welcoming in the latest set, with several surprises. Some creatures we used to know back in the good old days of Dawn of Perim are back, albeit, most are evil brainwashed minions, but they are back none the less!

This week's card is H'earring, Tainted.

What happened to H'earring?! He used to be this cute little guy, and now...I can't look at him anymore! At least he came back with a fun new ability. This new H'earing effectively stops your opponent from stacking his or her hand with one or more strong attack cards. You will be able to disable your opponent's Allmageddon before he can even play it, or stop your opponent from flipping your battlegear with an Elemental Oxidation.

I think H'earing is a pretty useful card. Rate him one out of ten :).

Chaotic Card of the Week-November 26

This week I want to go back to the basics. Today I am going to review Mipedim Oasis :).

I was going through all of the cards from M'arrillian Invasion and I thought a lot of the abilities were cool, but not all of them were that useful :P. Then I went through some of my favorite cards from Dawn of Perim, and I found one of the more useful locations in one of my current armies.

Who doesn't want 10 free damage? Especially in a Mipedian strike deck, the more damage you can deal up front, the better (my deck isn't really a strike deck, but you get the idea). Another great reason to use this over other locations is the lack of Mipedian armies in the metagame. There are some, but you will see many more overworld and underworld variants instead of a regular mipedian army. Basically, the bonus is all yours ;).

Rate out of 10 :).

Chaotic Card of the Week-November 21

I apologize, I know I have never been this late with a CoTW before, but I have had a long week and completely forgot about writing the CoTW article.

Without a further delay, this week's card is Gronmor!

Courage: 75
Power: 50
Wisdom: 80
Speed: 50
Energy: 60

Gronmor is one of my new favorite creatures after the release of the newest set. He is a tank: high energy, great stats, and three elements. Ok, he might have gotten his elements from being scanned near Stronghold Mourn, but that doesn't make him any less awesome!

I have seen a lot of people who think that Gronmor is overpowered, and in comparision to the past sets, he more or less is, but his has two main weaknesses. The biggest and most noticeable is his lack of mugic counters. The next one which may not come directly to mind is his lack of power. Each discipline has an element associated with it. Power's element is fire. Gronmor has Fire 5, but he doesn't have the power that usually goes hand in hand with a majority of his fire attacks. So a good number of the attacks Gronmor is good at...he isn't very good at :P. So although he is strong with fire attacks, he wouldn't find as good of a home in a traditional Underworld deck, because he lacks the power compatibility with it. You would want to put him in a deck that focuses more on his three elements with a majority of the attacks being fire based.

So rate it out of 10 please :).

Card of the Week-11/4

Happy Election Day everyone! For those of you who can vote, I hope you exercise your right as an American today :).

This week's card is Destructozooka.

This is a really interesting card. Think of this as an all purpose version of the original Pyroblaster type battlegear. The only difference is that Pyroblaster can only be used once, with the rare exception of Bodal's Arsenal.

Destructozooka is a little different. Being a flip type battlegear, you can reuse its ability with cards like Gear Grind.

The other big difference is that you also get the element 5 of your choice. So if you thought a Bloot with a Viledriver was bad, think about if Bloot had the fire element as well!

So rate Destructozooka out of 10 :).

Card of the Week-10/29

Welcome again for another installment of my card of the week :).

This week's card is Plasmarrow :).

Some of you have seen my latest deck that I have been using in play is the Overworld Gronmor deck, and it really does work well. In most cases, it is one of the best decks to use right now, the only problem is that there are a few cards out there that literally destroy the deck. Plasmarrow is one of them.

With the new set, overworld has some real fighters now. No one can come up to you and say that Gronmor isn't a worth while creature to use. High energy, three elements, fire 5, how can't you love to use him? The problem is, Overworld's mugic and abilities focus on keeping him alive, which you really can't do when your healing is gone. So your mugic and abilities are gone, but your opponent's are still up and running. Just a bit of an unfair advantage, right?

Most of the new attacks (3 build points, 30 damage, and effect) are great attacks. If you have the space, go for one, you might not regret it :).

Chaotic Card of the Week-October 22

It might be a little on the late side, but I am doing this on time! As long as it is Wednesday, it's all good :).

When I first saw this card at San Diego, I did a double take. It was a "What were they thinking?!" moment :P. Think about it, Bladez is hard enough to defeat, and as soon as he is destroyed, you just loaded your opponent's weapon for him. This mugic is pretty much an auto kill for any creature once a creature like Bladez or Tartarek is in the discard pile. Not many creatures can take 65 points of damage and win the fight, let alone surviving it.

Minion cards are everywhere. Every common and uncommon creature from M'arrillian Invasion is a minion, and a large majority of the other creatures are minions too, and many different decks rely on them, not just M'arrillian based armies. This mugic can find a home in most decks that have one or two minion fighters in the army, and can afford the two casting cost.

I am going to try something new, I want you to rate this mugic on a scale from 1-10. 1 being the worst you've seen, and 10 being the best. Now get voting! :)

Chaotic Card of the Week-October 15

This week's card is Bladez :).

Courage: 80
Power: 90
Wisdom: 35
Speed: 30
Energy: 60

Show me a player who thinks that Bladez is a bad card, and I will show you one sorry chaotic player! Everything about Bladez is purely amazing. Two elements, as much energy as Maxxor, and one (well two, but only one can be used :P) awesome abilities.

Most people already found the Husk Armor combo, and good for them :). Those two cards work excellent together, making up for one weakness and turning it into a strength.

Chaotic Card of the Week-October 8

This week's card is Owayki :).

I am sure that some of my loyal fans will have seen this one coming. Owayki was one of the previews I posted from Gen Con for you guys. Now back to the card.

Courage: 40
Power: 50
Wisdom: 45
Speed: 85
Energy: 60

I hope someone just did a double take on Owayki's stats. Elemental X is a very powerful tool (just look at Barath Beyond) and Owayki has the same energy as Barath, but without the nasty recklessness that is Barath's biggest fault. Owayki has more than enough speed to fully use Progressive Speed. Even as a stand alone creature, Owayki is very strong.

His brings him to another level. He is a strictly better Marquis Darini. Even though Marquis never saw too much play, he wasn't supported with as good of stats and abilities as Owayki and the added mugic counter makes things even better :).

Chaotic Card of the Week-October 1

This week doesn't have one card, I am going to devote this week to an entire cycle of cards :).

These are beautiful cards. They are just absolutely beautiful. Before the metagame only could have decks with element X cards. They were quick, powerful and well supported. So unless you ran a deck that was focused on elements, you probably couldn't do as well as the underworld decks out there.

Now there are more opportunities. I have recently updated my Clodor deck with the new cards, and it is sweet ;). It beat an underworld deck with a chaor :). I might be posting some of my older decks that have been updated for the new set. Tell me if you guys would like that, and if so, which decks you want to see first :).

To avoid any confusion, here are the other ones :).

Chaotic Card of the Week-September 24

This week's card is Jaal :).

Jaal is one of the craftier of the Danian tribe. I can't tell you how many players got flustered after losing one of their ultra rare creatures to jaal. You guys need to understand that just because a creature is an uncommon, doesn't mean that it isn't playable, or bad. Yugioh has numbed you guys to how rarity works :P. Many factors go into what rarity a card will be, it isn't all about how strong it is. So don't go around saying cards are too good and need to be of a higher rarity, because TC Digital knows what they are doing.

Any way, back to jaal. Any creature with element X is something that you need to watch out for. Even though you have to wait a little bit for him to get it, the infection part of his ability makes him almost better. Pair him up with the queen and you will be getting extra mugic counters so you will be saving your Lore's mugic counters to be dealing damage ;).

Card of the Week: 9/17

This week's card is Saand :).

Courage: 50
Power: 30
Wisdom: 50
Speed: 75
Energy: 50

Let me tell you a little story. I was at Gen Con for nationals, and I just got back from this match against a swift/range mipedian deck that used Saand and this Chaotic Employee asked, "Do you like Saand?" I replied that I liked him, and could get quite annoying at times :P. Then he said "Yeah, it is a design team favorite too." So don't take my word for it, I'm not alone!

Just look at him: Surprise, fairly nice stats, and air 5. He is a very power creature, and is the mipedian equivalent of Barath Beyond and everyone will agree with me when I say that he is a good card.

So see if you can work him into an air based mipedian deck, you might just be pleasantly surprised :).

Card of the Week 9/11

Sorry about forgetting about the Card of the Week guys! I was so busy posting the new Chaotic season thing that I totally forgot about it! Without a further a-do here is today's card :):

As a special "I'm sorry" gift, that code is unused and valid :). So if you are the first to read this, congrats on the free Frightening Muck!

I am sure everyone can see why this card is the Card of the Week. With a potential of 25 damage for only 2 build points, you really can really do some cost effective damage. And think of a crawsectus, with a vlaric shard using this attack? 35 damage for two build points is an amazing thing to have in your deck. Oh, and did I mention that I love its art? :D

Chaotic Card of the Week-July 30

'ello! Welcome to the July 30th Card of the Week Article! This week's card is Ranun :).

Courage: 45
Power: 25
Wisdom: 55
Speed: 45
Energy: 35

Some are probably wondering "Why do a card that is only good in one deck?" Well, the short answer is that I'm not. Ranun is a great addition to many Mipedian decks.

Mipedians are missing some key mugic casters in the game right now, and Ranun is a pretty good fit. He has two mugic counters, and his healing ability will be able to help you out when you need it.

Having Conjurors in your army has a few other benefits, mostly through Ravita Flower. By equipping a Ravita Flower to one of your other creatures, you can give Ranun two more mugic counters which will give you more options with your mugic cards, or you can use the extra counters to heal your creatures that extra 20 energy, which can easily give you the edge in battle :).
