Garv

Show me a player who undervalues garv, and I'll show you one misinformed chaotic player! Ever since he came out all the way back in the Dawn of Perim block, he's been a force to be reckoned with. This card is a bit of nostalgia since one of the very first blog posts was talking about a nifty card combo of Garv and Orb of Foresight.

Flipping battlegear is a HUGE ability. This one creature can nullify a heptadd's crown, get rid of a Weightless Energy Vessel, let you reuse a destructazooka, or let you use any battlegear of a creature who hasn't seen combat yet. I know that I've made several decks with this creature, including the deck I played at worlds.

What do you guys think of garv?

I like Garv. He's a funny hippo. Like you said, his ability is pretty powerful, and if the player can devise a way to continually fuel him with counters (which wouldn't even always be necessary, but a nice little benefit) you can control the game quite a bit. Not only that, but he even has a good bit of Energy and Wisdom so he wouldn't be that bad a creature in battle. Overall a really cool creature.

Garv's cool. There are many strategies to use him in, especially the Bodal FDR decks. The only disadvantage is that he only has 2MC's, but have Dibanni on your team and he's a BEAST. Overall I rate Garv a decent 4/10, I would have done it 4.5/10, but I hate this guy messing with my decks that I so value to have BG in...

If I can find a way to get him into infinite mc I'll use him, but he is very useful against burn decks
