Chaotic Card of the Week-October 22

It might be a little on the late side, but I am doing this on time! As long as it is Wednesday, it's all good :).

When I first saw this card at San Diego, I did a double take. It was a "What were they thinking?!" moment :P. Think about it, Bladez is hard enough to defeat, and as soon as he is destroyed, you just loaded your opponent's weapon for him. This mugic is pretty much an auto kill for any creature once a creature like Bladez or Tartarek is in the discard pile. Not many creatures can take 65 points of damage and win the fight, let alone surviving it.

Minion cards are everywhere. Every common and uncommon creature from M'arrillian Invasion is a minion, and a large majority of the other creatures are minions too, and many different decks rely on them, not just M'arrillian based armies. This mugic can find a home in most decks that have one or two minion fighters in the army, and can afford the two casting cost.

I am going to try something new, I want you to rate this mugic on a scale from 1-10. 1 being the worst you've seen, and 10 being the best. Now get voting! :)

I'll go 9, it's incredibly strong. Even with a common like Accato you can deal 70 damage!!! 5 less then the max energy in the game right now.

I give it a 7 because it is really good for high energy creature if in discard pile but it cost as you said 2 mugic witch most creature don't have.an other good thing with it is that it is genric mugic so any tribe can play it even M'arrains

I'll give it a solid 10! because I had something similar happen to me and now that I have it, it is every deck of mine w/ a minion in it!

that card is hands down a 10, even a 20! its pretty much like having the creature's soul attack ur enemys card :D. no wonder its an ultra. and if it were only 1 MC, then everyone would have one of these in every deck.

A 9 it is an autokill

KnucklesE here!

I give it an 8. Everything has its weaknesses. This costs 2 mugics, but is definitely worth it. Also the UW refrain will block it.

Hmmmm, a scale of 1-10? 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Just kidding! 10! auto matic KO in most cases.

One word: Nine. This is a wonderful card. Some super and ultra cards like song of revival are only good with super and ultra creatures but this card could be put in a relatively low budget minion deck and still have good use.

I would say it is an 8
it needs two mugic counters which means it is best used in 6 vs.6
(cause the chieftain do not have mugic counters and most minions do not have much mugic counters)also there are various mugics that can negate the effect like Refrain of Denial and also Song of deflection to name a few

In all honesty, underworld's Refrain of Denial probably won't see too much play. Maybe it will see more play, but there are more mugics that aren't as specific as that and will be more useful in more situations.

exactly! everyone knows HOW to negate it, but most DONT have the cards to do it in their army. when was the last time anyone went up against an opponent that used that mugic, or even used it themselves?!
besides, most players who have this mugic will most likely have a redrain of denial of their own. iit just depends on which version you choose. you have a better chance with an OW one, even though it costs an extra MC, but its worth it to be able to play your mugic :D
but thats just my opinion

I'd have said it would be a 10 easy but then I noticed that a Refrain of Denial UW and OW refrian of Denial could negate it. Also if I'm not mistake there may be a few creatures with abilities that could stop it. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm sure there must be. They wouldn't make a card like this without some kind of way to stop it. Although wouldn't Song of Deflection be abble to change it's target to a non- minion? I would think it would as it's also an ultra. I've also noticed that if your opponet uses Void Dirge an takes most ofyou creatures out it will be useless if they are all minions. 8/10

I say that Psionic Serenade is a 9. The only real reason it is not a ten is because it costs two Mugic Counters.

It works even better when combined with Nourishing Nocturne, although the combination of both is a costly one.

irock72 here. That's an easy 10. Even ditching a weak card can be devastating.
